DSL Set-Up Instructions
This guide will assist you in setting up your computer for DTC DSL
Internet service supports computers with the following operating systems: WIN98, WIN2000, WINME, WINXP
Be sure modem is connected before beginning setup!
Internet Explorer settings for DSL
1. Open Internet Explorer by left - double clicking on the Internet Explorer Icon
2. On the toolbar at the top, left click on “Tools”
3. Left click on “Internet Options”
4. Left click on the “Connections tab”
5. Left click in the circle beside “Never dial a connection”
6. Left click on “Apply” at the bottom of the page.
7. Left click on the “Lan settings” button.
8. Make sure all boxes are UNCHECKED.
9. Left click “OK”, then left click “OK again.
To setup Outlook Express Mail for DSL service:
(Skip if you have an existing E-mail account with DTCcom.net)
10. Left click on “Tools”
11. Left click on “Mail and News”, then move over to “Read Mail”
12. Left click on “Read Mail”. This will launch Outlook Express.
13. When Outlook Express comes up, left click on “Tools”
14. Move down and left click on “Accounts”
15. Left click on “Add”, then move over to “Mail”.
16. Left click on “Mail”. This will launch the “Internet Connection Wizard”.
17. Enter your name and click “Next”.
18. Enter your e-mail address, which consist of the username you requested when you placed your order and the DTC domain name of “dtccom.net”. Example: if your username was “billythekid” type in billythekid@dtccom.net
19. Left click NEXT.
20. Enter the following information in the fields:
Incoming mail - type pop.dtccom.net
Outgoing mail - type smtp.dtccom.net.
21. Left click NEXT.
22. Type in your username and password.
23. Make sure “remember password” box IS CHECKED.
24. Left click NEXT.
25. Left click “Finish”. Now you have successfully completed setting up your email account. Now you can begin sending and receiving emails.
