“ Senior Solutions Days” – Internet & Wireless Phone Training Program

DTC & DTC Wireless held the first kickoff session for their Internet & Wireless Phone Training Program, at Gordonsville High School on September 28, 2006.

“We have had so many senior adults tell us they don’t know how to use a computer or a wireless phone, but are willing to learn”, stated Beverly Bennett, Business Development Supervisor for DTC. “We are excited that Chris Manus, Business Technology Leader and advisor for Future Business Leaders of America, has volunteered to coordinate this program and that Steve Armistead, Principal of Gordonsville High School has offered the use the computer lab at the school where the classes will be conducted. The program provides an opportunity for senior adults to learn basic and advanced Internet and computer skills, while local high school students have an opportunity to volunteer their time and give back to their community.”

DTC Wireless is expanding the program to showcase it’s new wireless phones and introduce “Senior Solutions”. Senior Solutions has been specifically designed with rate plans to meet the needs of those over age 55 who want the peace of mind and convenience of wireless services at an affordable price.

Weekly training classes will be conducted by Gordonsville and Smith Co High School students on Wednesdays from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at Gordonsville High School. Jan Johnson, Smith County Senior Director and Chris Manus will coordinate class schedules. Reservations may be made by contacting Jan at 735-0577 or Beverly Bennett at DTC Communications (464-2246.)
