Chelsea Lewis: 2013 Scholarship Recipient

Chelsea Lewis was selected from among 23 applicants as the 17th annual recipient of the DTC Scholarship in Memory of McAllen Foutch.

Lewis is the daughter of Jimmy and Gina Lewis. She graduated in May from DeKalb County High School with a 4.0 grade point average and will attend the University of Tennessee, where she plans to study nursing.

While in high school, Lewis was named a Tennessee Scholar and served as treasurer of the DCHS Student Council and HOSA. She was also a member of the Literature Club, FBLA, FCA and the BETA Club. She was selected by her teachers and peers as Miss DeKalb County High School and was named as a Top Twenty Outstanding Senior. She played basketball for the Tigers and received multiple awards during her high school career. Lewis was also a football cheerleader.

“I have bled orange my entire life and have always known that UT held my future,” Lewis says. “Therefore, nothing excites me more than making Knoxville my new home for the next few years. Thank you DTC for investing in my future.”
