Refuse calls from callers who block their numbers.

Feature Instructions

How To Use:
  1. Pick up the handset and listen for dial tone.
  2. Press *77.
  3. Listen for confirmation tone or announcement. Hang up.
When Someone Calls:
  1. Callers who have blocked the display of their number and name will hear an announcement that you do not accept anonymous calls and they should cancel the blocking option and call again.
  2. All other calls will ring through as usual.
To Cancel Your Anonymous Call Rejection:
  1. Press *87.
  2. Listen for confirmation tone or announcement. Hang up.

Note: You will not be notified when or how many calls have been rejected.

Get through to busy numbers as soon as they’re free.

Feature Instructions

You can save time dialing busy numbers over and over. Your phone rings as soon as the line is free, and automatically connects you.

How To Use:
  1. When you hear a busy signal, press and release the “switchhook.” Listen for a special tone.
  2. If you’ve already hung up, lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
  3. Press *66.
  4. If the line is still busy, hang up. Your phone will check the number for up to 30 minutes.
  5. A special callback ring alerts you when the line becomes free (some phones ring normally).
  6. Lift the handset to automatically place the call.
To Cancel Your Automatic Callback Request:
  1. Depress the “switchhook” and release. Listen for a special dial tone.
  2. If you’ve already hung up, lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
  3. Press *86.
  4. Listen for confirmation tone or announcement. Hang up.

Notes:

  • To start the 30-minute clock, repeat steps 1-6 under “How to use.”
  • Automatic Callback can check as many as 31 busy lines at once for you. To know which call is being completed, you must subscribe to Caller Number service.
  • Does not work on 800 numbers, 900 numbers, numbers outside the specified service area, or on lines where Call Forward and some other call services have been activated.
  • The “switchhook” is the button the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone. Some telephones have a Link or Flash key you can press instead.

Automatic Callback (*66) is now available on a Pay-Per-Use basis for a small fee of 50¢ per use.

Easily dial your last caller – even if you didn’t answer.

Feature Instructions

If you couldn’t get to the phone in time, you can still find out who called. Return the call by dialing a simple code.

How To Use:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for a normal dial tone.
  2. If you were already on the phone and ignored a call waiting tone, press and quickly release the “switchhook.”
  3. Press *69. You will hear an announcement of the last number that called your line.
If the line is busy:
  1. Hang up. Your phone will keep trying the line for up to 30 minutes.
  2. A special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free (some phones ring normally).
  3. Lift the handset to automatically place the call.
To Cancel Your Automatic Recall Request:
  1. Press *89.
  2. Listen for confirmation tone or announcement. Hang up.

Notes:

  • The “switchhook” is the button the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone. Some telephones have a Link or Flash key you can press instead.
  • After you dial *69, a recorded voice will give you the phone number of the call you missed and ask if you want to use the Automatic Recall feature. Just follow the voice instructions.
  • Does not work on 800 numbers, 900 numbers, outside the specified service area, or lines where Call Forward and some other call services have been activated.
  • This feature only works on local landline calls.

Automatic Recall (*69) is now available on a Pay-Per-Use basis for a small fee of 50¢ per use.

Calls follow you to another number.

Feature Instructions

You can program your calls to ring at another number. Each time a call is forwarded, your phone will make one short ring. It can still be used to make outgoing calls.

To “turn on” the service:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *72.
  3. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.
  4. You’ll hear two beeps meaning your Call Forwarding features is in effect.
To “turn off” the service:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *73.
  3. Listen for confirmation tone, then hang up. Your Call Forward is now “off” and calls will ring normally on your phone.
To change the “forward to” number:
  1. Turn off Call Forward.
  2. Repeat steps 1 – 4 above to turn on Call Forward, entering the new “forward to” number.

Note: Dial the number exactly as if you are calling directly. For a local number, dial the 10-digit phone number. For a long distance number, dial “1” plus the area code. Or if you have speed calling, you may dial one of your codes instead.

Toll charges apply on long distance calls.

Call Forward is now available on a Pay-Per-Use basis for a small fee of 50¢ per use.

Use any touch-tone phone at another location to set-up or change Call Forward on your home or business line.

Feature Instructions

Before first use, must change PIN number from home telephone number:

To Change PIN Number:

To change PIN number, dial access code *58 from your home phone. You will hear “Please enter your current PIN followed by the # sign.” Enter default PIN: 1234

You will hear “Please enter your new 4 digit PIN code followed by the # sign.” Enter your new PIN code. You will hear “Your pin has been successfully changed to”. Your new PIN will be repeated twice.

User Instructions:

To access your telephone’s Call Forward Service Remotely:

  1. Dial 615-683-4884, enter your own telephone # (10 digits) followed by the # sign.
  2. Please enter current PIN followed by the # sign.
  3. Please enter access code (*72) for the Call Forwarding feature you wish to configure.

To Forward Calls, hear dial tone.

  • Enter 10-digit telephone number to call forward followed by the # sign. You will hear confirmation tone and click.
  • To Deactivate Call Forwarding, dial 615-683-4884. You will hear “Please enter your own telephone number (10 digits) followed by the # sign.
  • Please enter your current PIN followed by the # sign.
  • Please enter access code (*73) for the call forwarding feature you wish to configure. You will hear double tone and click.

See the name of the person calling before you answer the phone.

How To Use:
  1. When you receive a call, wait until your telephone completes the first ringing signal.
  2. The name of the person calling you will automatically appear on your display screen.
  3. If you choose to answer the call, the name will remain on the screen until you or the caller hangs up.

Notes:

  • Subscription to Caller Name requires the lease or purchase of a display telephone or an add-on display unit.
  • If the letter “P” or “Private” appears on your screen, the caller may have blocked the display of their name by pressing *67 before placing the call. You can choose whether or not to answer the call.
  • If “unknown name,” “unknown number,” “out of area,” or “0” appears, the caller is in an area that does not support Caller Name services.

See the number calling before you answer the phone.

Identify harassing callers through the phone company.

Feature Instructions

When you receive a harassing call, you can dial a simple code to trace the source of that call for the telephone company.

How To Use:
  1. When you get a nuisance call, press and quickly release the “switchhook.” Listen for a special dial tone.
  2. If you’ve already hung up, just lift the handset again and listen for a normal dial tone.
  3. Press *57. To trace the last call received dial 1; otherwise hang up.
  4. Listen for a confirmation announcement that the last call has been traced.
  5. Hang up.
  6. Once call trace has been activated by using *57, report the call to DTC within 24 hours by dialing 615-464-6060. Give your name, telephone number, date and time of call, and the type of call you received. Before releasing information to the local authorities, proper paperwork must be provided to DTC.

Notes:

  • The “switchhook” is the button the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone. Some telephones have a Link or Flash key you can press instead.
  • Call Tracing must be used immediately after you hang up on the call you want traced. If you get another call, or hear a Call Waiting tone first, you will trace the wrong call.
  • In some areas, after you dial *57, you’ll hear an announcement that the call can be traced. Just follow the voice instructions to dial an additional code, and the call will be traced.

Call Tracing (*57) is now available on a Pay-Per-Use basis for a small fee of 50¢ per use.

Know when another caller is trying to reach you, while you are on the phone.

Feature Instructions

You can use your telephone without missing other calls. A special tone alerts you to a waiting call; the person calling you hears normal ringing.

To answer a waiting call:
  1. When you’re on the phone, a special tone tells you a second call is waiting.
  2. Simply press and quickly release the “switchhook” on your telephone. Your first caller is automatically placed on hold, while you’re connected with the second caller.
If you choose not to answer the incoming call:

You’ll hear a special tone to remind you of the waiting call.

To Alternate Between Callers:

Simply press and quickly release the “switchhook.” While you talk with one caller, the other will automatically be placed on hold. Each conversation remains private.

To end either call:
  1. Hang up.
  2. Your phone will ring.
  3. When you answer, you’ll be connected with the remaining caller.
To “turn off” Call Waiting before making a call:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *70.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone.
  4. Dial the telephone number you wish to call. Now, your call will not be interrupted by the Call Waiting tone. Other callers will hear a busy signal.
  5. After you hang up, Call Waiting automatically “turns on” again.
To “turn off” Call Waiting during a call:
  1. Press and release the “switchhook”.
  2. Press *70.
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone. You’ll automatically be reconnected to your call.
  4. After you hang up, Call Waiting automatically “turns on” again.

Notes:

  • You must have Three-Way Calling to “turn off” Call Waiting during a call.
  • The “switchhook” is the button the handset pushes down when you hang up the phone. Some telephones have a Link or Flash key you can press instead.

Now you’ll recognize when an important caller is calling.

Feature Instructions

With Call Waiting Deluxe, you’ll not only hear a special tone to let you know someone is calling while you are on the phone, but you’ll also see their telephone number and/or name on your special display unit or display phone. So you can decide whether to answer the call now or return the call later.

Know when someone special is calling.

Feature Instructions

When you make a list of special callers, your phone uses a special ring to announce calls from any of those numbers. If you also have Call Waiting, you’ll hear a special Call Waiting tone.

How To Use:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *61.
  3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored in your list.
  4. Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the feature ON (if it is currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if it is currently on).
To add a number to your list:
  1. Press #.
  2. Dial the number to be added then press the # key again.
  3. To add the last calling party dial 01 and press the # key again.
To remove a number from your list:
  1. Press *.
  2. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of those numbers.
To hear the phone numbers on your list:
  1. Dial 1.
  2. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To hear instructions again:

Dial 0.

Notes:

  • You may press 1, 0, # or * at any time rather than waiting for the voice instructions.
  • The list you create here is separate from any other lists you may be using for Selective Call Acceptance, Selective Call Forwarding, and similar services.

Turn your phone into a home communication system.

Feature Instructions

Use your phone to talk with someone in another part of the house, garage, workshop, or barn — wherever there’s an extension. A special ring lets you know it’s an intercom call.

How To Use:
  1. Lift handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Dial your own phone number. You will hear a busy signal – indicating that you’ve dialed your own number.
  3. Hang up.
  4. Listen for the phone to ring. The phone will stop ringing when someone picks up an extension.
  5.  Lift handset and you’ll be connected.

Note: Call Waiting will not function when using the Home Intercom or with Call Forward Busy.

Block your number from being displayed to others.

Feature Instructions

By dialing a code before you place a call, you can prevent your phone number from appearing on the display screen of the person receiving your call.

How To Use:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *67.
  3. Dial the number you’re calling as usual.
  4. The person you’ve called will not be able to see your number displayed on their display screen. Instead, a “P” or “Private” will be displayed.

Notes:

  • You must dial *67 before each call you place. Otherwise, your phone number will be released to the person receiving your call.
  • If you have requested Per-Line Blocking from your telephone company, you do not need to dial a code to block your number each time. Your number will always appear as “Private.” To override Per-Line Blocking (allowing your number to be displayed) on an individual call, dial *82 before placing the call.

Know who the call is for – as soon as it rings!

Feature Instructions

Two, three, or four different phone numbers can be assigned to your home telephone line. Use one number for the adults…a separate number for a home business…and another for the children. You can answer the phone differently for different callers.

How To Use:
  1. When someone dials your main telephone number, you’ll hear normal ringing (one long ring).
  2. When someone dials any of the other telephone numbers, you’ll hear a special ring that identifies that number (such as two short rings).
  3. Wait until the full ring pattern is complete before answering. You’ll know whether the call is for you-and how you should greet the caller.
If you also have Call Waiting:
  1. If someone dials your main number while you’re on the phone, you’ll hear a normal Call Waiting tone.
  2. If someone dials one of the other numbers, you’ll hear a special Call Waiting tone that identifies that particular number (such as two short tones).

Notes:

  • Your telephone company determines how many different numbers can be assigned to your line.
  • Although you have more than one telephone number assigned to your line, you have just one line and only one conversation can be held at a time, unless you have call waiting.
If you have Call Waiting with Personal Ring Service…

The same distinctive ringing patterns of Personal Ring Service are used with Call Waiting, so you can determine whether or not to interrupt your current conversation to answer the incoming call. The distinctive Call Waiting tones correspond to the distinctive ringing patterns.

To Use Personal Ring Service With Call Waiting:

Follow the same procedures for Call Waiting.

If you have Call Forward with Personal Ring Service

With PERSONAL RING, CALL FORWARD operates in one of two arrangements. Choose which arrangement you want when you select PERSONAL RING SERVICE.

Your options are:

  • All telephone numbers are forwarded when Call Forward is activated. The telephone number to which you forward these calls does not receive the distinctive patterns, however. To use, follow the same procedures for Call Forward.

-or-

  • Your main telephone number is forwarded when Call Forward is activated. The additional numbers will continue to ring at home, and can be answered there. The telephone number to which you forward your main number calls does not receive the distinctive ringing pattern, however. To use, follow the same procedures for Call Forward.

Note:

  • To change from one of the above arrangements to the other, contact the DTC Customer Service at 615-529-2955 or 615-588-1277 (Carthage).

Control which calls you’ll take.

  3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your acceptance list.
  4. Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the feature ON (if it is currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if it is currently on).
To add a number to your list:
  1. Press #.
  2. Dial the number to be added then press the # key again.
To add the last caller:
  1. Dial 01 and press the # key again.
To remove a number from your list:
  1. Press *.
  2. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of those numbers.
To hear the phone numbers on your list:
  1. Dial 1.
  2. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To hear instructions again:
  1. Dial 0.
When someone calls:
  1. When your service is turned ON, you’ll receive calls only from those on your acceptance list.
  2. Callers who are not on your list will simply hear an announcement that you are not accepting calls at this time.

Notes:

  • You may press 1, 0, #, or * at any time rather than waiting for the voice instructions.
  • The list you create here is separate from any other lists you may be using for Distinctive Ringing, Selective Call Forwarding, Selective Call Rejection, and similar services.

Decide which callers should follow you to another number.

How To Use:
  1. Pick up the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *63.
  3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your forward list.
  4. Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the feature ON (if it is currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if it is currently on).
To enter your “Forward-to” number:
  1. Enter your forward-to number now and press the # key. (The first time you turn on the service, you’ll be asked to enter the number you’d like your special calls forwarded to. From then on, the system will simply remind you of the current “forward-to” number.)
  2. If the current number is correct, dial 1.
  3. If you wish to change the current forward-to number, dial 0 and then follow voice instructions.
To add a number to your list:
  1. Press #.
  2. Dial the number to be added then press the # key again.
To add the last caller to your acceptance list:
  1. Press # key again.
To remove a number from your list:
  1. Press *.
  2. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of those numbers.
To hear the numbers on your list:
  1. Dial 1.
  2. After list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To hear instructions again:

Dial 0.

When someone calls:

If your service is turned ON, and the caller is on your forward list, the call will be re-routed to your “forward-to” number. If the caller is not on your forward list, the call will ring at your home as usual.

Notes:

  • You may press 1, 0, #, or * at any time rather than waiting for the voice instructions.
  • The list you create here is separate from any other lists you may be using for Distinctive Ringing, Selective Call Acceptance, Selective Call Rejection, and similar services.
  • This service can work with Call Forward (all calls). Numbers on your selective list will follow you to your Selective Call Forward number. All other calls you receive will be routed to your regular Call Forward number.

Block unwanted calls from disturbing you.

Feature Instructions

How To Use:
  1. Pick up the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *60.
  3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your rejection list.
  4. Follow the voice instruction and dial 3 to turn the feature ON (if it is currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if it is currently on).
To add the last caller to your rejection list: (even if you don’t know the number)

Press #01#.

To add a number to your list:
  1. Press #.
  2. Dial the number to be added then press the # key again.

If needing to block a long distance number call 615-529-2955 to have the number added.

To add the last calling party:

Dial 01 and press the # key again.

To remove a number from your list:
  1. Press *.
  2. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of those numbers.
To hear the phone numbers on your list:
  1. Dial 1.
  2. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To hear these instructions again:

Dial 0

When someone calls:

If your service is turned ON, callers who are on your rejection list will hear an announcement that your number is not accepting calls at this time. All other calls will ring through as usual.

Quickly dial eight of your most frequently called numbers.

Feature Instructions

You can enter up to eight telephone numbers – local or long distance – into your Speed Calling list. Then, you can reach those people by dialing just one digit.

To program your Speed Calling list:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *74.
  3. Listen for the dial tone.
  4. Dial a one-digit speed code (Choose any number 2-9).
  5. Dial the telephone number you wish to assign to that speed code. (For long distance calls, be sure to include ì1î plus the area code.)
  6. Listen for the confirmation tone.
To call someone on your Speed Calling list:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Dial the one-digit speed code, then press the # key.
To change your Speed Calling list:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *74.
  3. Listen for the dial tone.
  4. Dial the one-digit speed code you wish to change.
  5. Listen for the cancellation tone, then the dial tone. Follow steps 4-7 above to program your Speed Calling list.

Quickly dial thirty of your most frequently called numbers.

Feature Instructions

You can program up to 30 telephone numbers – local or long distance – into your Speed Calling list. Then, you can reach those people by dialing just two digits.

To program your Speed Calling list:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *75.
  3. Listen for the dial tone.
  4. Dial a two-digit speed code (Choose any number 20 through 49).
  5. Dial the telephone number you wish to assign to that speed code. (For long distance calls, be sure to include “1” plus the area code).
  6. Listen for the confirmation tone.
To call someone on your Speed Calling list:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Dial the two-digit speed code, then press the # key.
To change your Speed Calling list:
  1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
  2. Press *75.
  3. Listen for the dial tone.
  4. Dial the two-digit speed code you wish to change.
  5. Listen for the cancellation tone, then the dial tone. Follow steps 4-7 above to program your Speed Calling list.

Talk with two people in different places – at the same time.

Feature Instructions

When you’re talking with someone, you can add a third person to the call. It’s easy to coordinate family schedules or hold a telephone conference with business colleagues.

To add a third person to the call:
  1. Press and quickly release the “switchhook” to place the first person on hold.
  2. Listen for the dial tone.
  3. Dial the third person’s phone number. (If you have speed calling, you may dial one of your codes instead.)
  4. When the third person answers, you can talk privately before making it a three-way conversation.
  5. To make the three-way connection, press and quickly release the “switchhook.” You can now talk with both people at the same time.
To cancel the three-way connection:
  1. If the third person did not answer or you wish to disconnect them, just press and quickly release the “switchhook.” You’ll be reconnected to the person holding.
  2. Or, if either of the two people hang up, you can continue talking with the remaining person.
To end the call completely:

Simply hang up.

Restrict long distance calls from being made from your phone.

Be prepared for emergency situations.

Feature Instructions

Warm Line Service lets you turn your ordinary phone into a security device. This feature is great for people with small children, the elderly and people with disabilities.

With Warm Line just 16 seconds after taking the phone off the hook, a number is automatically dialed. For regular calls, you just pick up the phone and dial any telephone number within 16 seconds.

How To Use:
  1. Lift the handset and wait 16 seconds.
  2. After 16 seconds, the number is automatically dialed. The emergency number to be dialed is:___________________.
To prevent dialing:

Lift the handset and dial the number you wish to call before 16 seconds have elapsed.

Note: When you subscribe to Warm Line you choose a predesignated number which can only be changed by contacting DTC at 615-529-2955.

The service provides subscribers the ability to have an automated announcement of their new telephone number that they have moved or had their number changed.

Feature Instructions

How It Works:

If you’re moving or changing your number you will be sure not to miss any calls. This is great for businesses that are relocating or for the residential customer who just has too many friends to notify of their new number.

Upon contacting the phone company with news of your move or number change, simply request your calls be intercepted. The announcement states “the number you have dialed is no longer a working number – the new number is _______.” Your announcement can stay in place up to 6 months ensuring that you won’t lose a customer or a friend.
